There are many different types of internel combustion engines. They can be classified by :
1 - Application :
Automobiles , truck , locomotive , light aircaft ,marine , portable power system , power generation.
2 - Engine design:
Reciprocating engines which in turn subdivided by arrangement of cylinders for examples:
3 - working cycle :
3-1 Two stroke cycle <
3-2 Four stroke cycle <
4 - Fuel :
Gasoline (or petrol), fuel oil (or diesel fuel),natural gas,liquid petroleum gas ,hydrogen....ect
5- method of ignition :
- Spark ignition engine <
- compression ignition engine <
6- combution chamber design :
open chamber and it have many design eg (disc ,wedge,hemisphere ,bowl in piston) and we will show that different design in videos section ,divided chamber and it have many designs eg swirl and prechambers.
